Create a site
Assuming you haven't created a website yet, this will be the next step. Fortunately, building a site is not as complicated or as time consuming as it used to be.
Buy a domain.
Your domain is your website address (for example, https://work.com.hr), so it's the first thing you'll need to do when setting up your site. Since there are millions of websites on the internet, it is possible that the domain name you want is already taken by someone else. So make sure you have several options in mind. Be sure to read our tips on how to choose a good domain name.
If your domain is your address, hosting is like the house your site will live in. It's your own little piece of the Internet - the place where all the files on your website live. Hosting is very affordable these days, so don't skimp on the costs unnecessarily.
You will need to link the domain and the hosting together. Don't panic, it's a simple process.
Produce great content
Now that you've got your site set up and you've joined an affiliate program, you're ready to start perhaps the longest (but potentially rewarding) part of affiliate business. Produce content.
This is where the overused but truer than ever expression “content is king” comes into play.
Your goal for your site will be to establish it as an authority site in your niche, and the primary way to achieve this is to consistently produce unique, high quality content.
If you create a site that has the potential for information that will never get old and remain useful to your audience, you have the opportunity to create what is known as permanent content. It is important to do thorough keyword research before planning permanent content for a site like this, as your site could benefit tremendously from the proper use of keywords in such content.
Giving away a free information product such as an eBook, email series, or mini-course is a popular tactic used by many affiliate marketers. Usually, your readers will need to provide their email addresses to receive the product from you. You can then use it to sell them through email marketing. Additionally, an information product can generate interest in the product you are trying to sell. If your product is popular enough and drives enough traffic to your site, you can monetize the traffic in other ways as well.
Create an audience
Building an audience for your site will, in some ways, follow naturally once you start producing great content. An interested audience will not only bring you consistent traffic, but also lead to consistent sales for you.
So how do you start building an audience for a brand new site? Here are some ideas:
Promote your content through social media.
The easiest and most common way to start building an audience for a website is through social media. Depending on your niche and industry, you can choose from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram,
Pinterest and several other niche and location networks. Building an engaged and interested audience on social media is a great opportunity to build relationships and, once you have their trust, promote your products and services to them.
The site gets likes on its Facebook page and it connects with the public by sharing links to content, but also by asking questions related to the economy / budget. Highly engaged readers then visit the website, where they read the content and no doubt make purchases.
Create a mailing list.
Let no one tell you that email marketing is dead. A mailing list is crucial for every affiliate marketer. You can start building your mailing list with a primary magnet (like the news products mentioned earlier) or even just by encouraging your audience to sign up for your updates. You can then deliver your content to that audience via email and also direct them to your affiliate offers. Don't be sleazy about sales, but if you build enough trust with your email audience; when the time comes, they won't hesitate to buy a product from you.
If you have created an email list, you can also promote your affiliate offers through email promotions. Just make sure you build a relationship with your audience instead of immediately going into hard selling. The emails you send should contain your affiliate links to products when your audience clicks on them. the sale is attributed to you.
Invest in paid advertising.
Many affiliate marketers use paid advertising to drive additional traffic to their site and generate more sales. Paid advertising on social media is often a good place to start, as these networks tend to be more affordable. You can also consider posting cheap banner ads on small niche sites. Depending on your niche, Google AdWords might also be a good option for driving paid traffic to your site. Advice at How to earn money on the internet!
